As an organization we hope to aid women involved in the agriculture industry and create
a network for success.

Mission
IWIA has as its mission to be the leading resource and advocate for women engaged in all aspects of agriculture. Our goal is to provide the educational opportunities women need to increase their skills in making business and financial decisions. We also seek to provide women opportunities to build networks and friendships with other women actively involved in today’s agricultural industry.

The Iowa Women in Agriculture programs’ intent is to identify the unique needs of women who are involved in agricultural production and in agribusiness and to provide the network of resources and expertise necessary to successfully meet those needs.

Iowa Women in Agriculture activities are made possible by a grants through the Risk Management Agency and Farm Service Agency

Past programs IWIA held are crop marketing – basic, advanced and options, and financial risk management meetings. Other programs have been agribusiness networking meetings and a conference centered on being prepared for a planned/unplanned transition in your operation. We have also been a part in developing a NET (Networking Education Team) to answer questions of women producers and working together with other conferences around the state to bring education and skills to women.

Who We Are
Formally structured in 2005, IWIA is a nonprofit organization with a board of directors consisting of fourteen women who volunteer their time to further the goals of the organization. The board consists of farm and agribusiness women from around the state interested in expanding the knowledge of and networking with other women to increase the quantity, competitiveness and economic potential of women involved in agricultural businesses.
